Awning is a surface covered with strong canvas or fabric made of polyester, acrylic fibers or PVC. Over the years the market has expanded and today many more types of materials have been introduced, more resistant and durable such as ETFE, Tyvek or Sunsilk.

There are several types of awnings: straight arm awnings, articulated arm awnings, blind arm awnings.

What are awning parts and accessories?

You want a change but you do not know what is more appropriate for your particular awning, here we are to advising and helping you!
You no longer want to go up and down by hand? Then you will find the right motor with us. Aside from arm sets, we have many other awning accessories and spare parts in our range: from drives to controls and cranks, you are sure to find what you are looking for in our shop. Of course, you can extend and retract your awning in the classic way with a mechanical gear and crank, but if you want it more convenient, you should go for a drive motor. With the emergency crank motor-drive variant, you can react quickly in the event of a power failure and retract your sun protection system by hand.

Awning Measurement Instructions

The size of canopy you choose depends primarily on structural conditions. If the awning is to be placed under a balcony or a wall, the width of the balcony will determine the width of the awning. When installing on the wall of the house, you can choose the width. Now you still have to decide whether the entire terrace area should be in the shade or only part of it, because you would like a corner in which to sunbathe.

How is the desired shadow area measured? The following procedure is very helpful:

Get a cardboard box about 2.50 m long. This corresponds to an average awning failure. Hold the box where your awning will be placed, at installation height (at least 2.50m) against the wall of the house at different times of the day. Now you can see how much area is shaded based on the position of the sun. If you want more shadow, choose a larger projection, for example 3m.

Do you have a terrace facing west? Then you can protect yourself from the low afternoon or evening sun with a valance blind. A folding valance can be of great help, as it can be lowered up to 1.20 m with a crank.
